# Keanekaragaman hayati garis dasar (opsional)

Data tentang kekayaan keanekaragaman hayati mungkin tidak tersedia dalam klasifikasi ekosistem. Jika tersedia untuk suatu proyek, data itu harus dimasukkan. 

Namun, ISBM tidak mensyaratkan klasifikasi keanekaragaman hayati secara penuh. ISBM hanya meminta identifikasi yang jelas atas spesies indikator yang diakui oleh Masyarakat Adat dan ilmuwan global sebagai spesies indikator yang berbeda. 

Jika memungkinkan, proyek harus memakai sumber yang tersedia untuk umum untuk menjelaskan kekayaan spesies dan spesies endemik untuk kelompok taksonomi berikut: Semua spesies pohon, tumbuhan berpembuluh, amfibi, reptil, burung, serangga, mamalia, ikan, dan jamur yang telah diidentifikasi.
