# Skor integritas spesies indikator
Kemampuan spesies indikator untuk mewakili ekosistem yang utuh
Skor integritas spesies indikator bersifat melekat pada spesies itu sendiri. Skor ini berasal dari relung yang berevolusi, sensitivitas terhadap, dan kerapuhan tanpa ekosistem alaminya. Skor ini dibuat dari data publik dan/atau pengetahuan ekologi tradisional.
ISBM dirancang untuk mewakili ekosistem yang utuh. Namun, beberapa spesies indikator yang mudah dipantau mungkin tidak cukup mewakili ekosistem tempat mereka ditemukan. Spesies yang dapat hidup di sistem yang tercemar akan punya skor integritas yang lebih rendah. Menemukan salah satu spesies itu hanya memberi kredit sebagian karena spesies itu bisa saja ada di ekosistem yang belum sepenuhnya utuh. Namun, spesies yang lebih mewakili mungkin sulit dipantau. Untuk membuat metodologi ini lebih mudah dipakai oleh IP dan LC yang mungkin belum ahli, atau oleh pemantau dengan sumber daya terbatas, kami memperkenalkan skor integritas spesies indikator yang memungkinkan pengamatan yang tidak ideal sebagai pengganti data yang sempurna.
Misalnya, banyak IP mungkin lebih mudah menemukan tapir daripada jaguar, dan di banyak bangsa Masyarakat Adat di seluruh Amazon, tapir adalah hewan totem. Namun, tapir tidak sepenuhnya mewakili ekosistem yang utuh, jadi tapir akan mendapat skor integritas 0.5.
