# 範囲
本方法論は、指標種モニタリングに依拠するBCPを確立することを意図する、自然人または法人のいずれの公的主体・民間主体によっても適用可能です。ISBMは、生物多様性保全プロジェクトが、結果に基づく支払いや同様の補償の対象となることを可能にするとともに、任意プロジェクトの枠組みにおける国際的緩和に貢献することも可能にします。

本方法論は、生物多様性条約（[生物多様性条約 n.d.](https://observatoriop10.cepal.org/en/treaty/convention-biological-diversity)）を批准した国に所在するISBMプロジェクトに適用可能です。プロジェクトは、現地規制および国家生物多様性戦略・行動計画（[UNDP 2023](https://www.undp.org/press-releases/nbsap-forum-20-launched-support-action-and-collaboration-nature)）に整合している必要があります。ただし、許可がある場合には、他国でも適用できます。
本方法論は、プロジェクトがNBSAPとの重複状況にある場合、またはそうでない場合に適用可能です。重複シナリオでは、ISBMベースラインシナリオ、プロジェクトシナリオ、およびNBSAPの間で一貫したモニタリングを可能にします。
本方法論で対象となるCBD活動（[Norden et al. 2015](https://www.pnas.org/doi/full/10.1073/pnas.1500403112)）は以下のとおりです。
* 生物多様性の保全は、狩猟または生息地の喪失によって劣化し得た、完全性の保たれた生物多様性の高い生態系の維持に相当し、IUCNの絶滅危惧種、または国内若しくは国際基準におけるIUCN絶滅危惧生息地を含むベースラインシナリオにおいて、結果として得られる期間中に完全な完全性を示すヘクタール数の合計により与えられます。
本方法論の適用範囲は、簡素性と迅速な展開を目的として設計されています。本方法論の第1版には、保全活動のみを含みます。将来版には、CBDの下での回復、生息地管理、または気候変動関連活動が含まれる可能性が高いです。
