*Estou lhe enviando esta CARTA DE APOIO como antropólogo (Ph.D., Berlim 1985), peruano (desde 1993), com muitos anos de experiência trabalhando com comunidades indígenas amazônicas.*

*Isso não é apenas como diretor do Escritório Regional do Ministério da Cultura em Amazonas, Peru, mas também como Coordenador da "Nature and Culture International" (NCI) nos Estados Unidos.*

*Durante meu trabalho com a NCI como Coordenador, em estreita coordenação com aproximadamente 20 comunidades nativas Awajún, estabelecemos 3 ÁREAS NATURAIS DE CONSERVAÇÃO de aproximadamente 70,000 hectares no total, geridas pelas próprias populações indígenas: Pamau Nain, Tijae Nain e Dase Nain.*

*Os Awajún são um dos quatro subgrupos da macroetnia Jíbara. Com aproximadamente 80,000 pessoas, eles são o segundo maior grupo étnico na Amazônia peruana.*

*Devido à confiança mútua estabelecida entre os Awajún e eu, como consultor, mantive comunicação contínua com eles até hoje.*

*COM BASE NAS EXPERIÊNCIAS RESUMIDAS ACIMA, CONSIDERO QUE A METODOLOGIA SAVIMBO, QUE SE BASEIA NO CONHECIMENTO ANCESTRAL INDÍGENA, É IMEDIATA E INCOMPARAVELMENTE MAIS EFICIENTE DO QUE AS ESTRATÉGIAS USUAIS PARA PROTEGER O MEIO AMBIENTE AMAZÔNICO.*

*Portanto, acredito que a metodologia Savimbo também poderia ser aplicada perfeitamente no futuro entre as comunidades Awajún.*
