# Biodiversidade da linha de base (opcional)

Dados sobre a riqueza de biodiversidade podem não estar disponíveis na classificação do ecossistema. Quando estiverem disponíveis para um projeto, eles devem ser incluídos. 

No entanto, o ISBM não exige classificação completa da biodiversidade, apenas a identificação clara de espécies indicadoras que tanto os Povos Indígenas quanto os cientistas do mundo reconhecem como espécies indicadoras distintas. 

Sempre que possível, os projetos devem usar fontes disponíveis ao público para caracterizar a riqueza de espécies e as espécies endêmicas para os seguintes grupos taxonômicos: todas as espécies identificadas de árvores, plantas vasculares, anfíbios, répteis, aves, insetos, mamíferos, peixes e fungos.
