*Je vous envoie cette LETTRE DE SOUTIEN en tant qu’anthropologue (Ph.D., Berlin 1985), Péruvien (depuis 1993), avec de nombreuses années d’expérience de travail avec des communautés autochtones amazoniennes.*

*Cela vient non seulement comme directeur du Bureau régional du Ministère de la Culture en Amazonas, Pérou, mais aussi comme coordinateur de « Nature and Culture International » (NCI) aux États-Unis.*

*Pendant mon travail avec NCI comme coordinateur, en étroite coordination avec environ 20 communautés autochtones awajún, nous avons établi 3 ZONES NATURELLES DE CONSERVATION d’environ 70 000 hectares au total, gérées par les populations autochtones elles-mêmes : Pamau Nain, Tijae Nain et Dase Nain.*

*Les Awajún sont l’un des quatre sous-groupes de la macro-ethnie Jíbara. Avec environ 80 000 personnes, ils sont le deuxième plus grand groupe ethnique en Amazonie péruvienne.*

*Grâce à la confiance mutuelle établie entre les Awajún et moi, en tant que consultant, j’ai gardé une communication continue avec eux jusqu’à aujourd’hui.*

*SUR LA BASE DES EXPÉRIENCES RÉSUMÉES CI-DESSUS, JE CONSIDÈRE QUE LA MÉTHODOLOGIE SAVIMBO, QUI EST BASÉE SUR LES CONNAISSANCES ANCESTRALES AUTOCHTONES, EST IMMÉDIATEMENT ET INCOMPARABLEMENT PLUS EFFICACE QUE LES STRATÉGIES HABITUELLES DE PROTECTION DE L’ENVIRONNEMENT AMAZONIEN.*

*Par conséquent, je crois que la méthodologie Savimbo pourrait aussi être parfaitement appliquée à l’avenir parmi les communautés awajún.*
